There are many rules and urban myths about watercolour. Unforgiving, it is the toughest medium to work with. Once you paint it you can’t change it! Watercolour is often the first medium artists work with, so why does it scare us so much as adults?

In this three-hour workshop, Sonia Mocnik will help work through your stress and anxiety so that you can be fearless in your use of watercolours and make the use of the “happy accidents” that occur.  Sonia will help reduce the intimidation factor, unlock the secrets to success with watercolour and create a sense of excitement working with this medium of endless possibilities.

Sonia Mocnik is inspired by her surroundings: cityscapes, seascapes and all the wonders of the outdoors. She is drawn to watercolour but also enjoys pen and ink and acrylic as mediums. An active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Hycroft Painters and the Vancouver Sketch Club, she also teaches watercolour classes through the West Vancouver Community Center and other venues, including teaching at sea.
